В 2023 г. в издательстве «Слово» выпущена книга археолога Яны Чехановец, крупного специалиста по христианским древностям Святой Земли, посвященная Иерусалиму. «Иерусалим земной и подземный» представляет собой уникальное исследование, поскольку в популярной форме вводит читателя в круг серьезнейших проблем археологии Иерусалима, в которой до сих пор множество темных пятен. Автор — сам житель Старого города, предлагает 40 эссе, в которых раскрывает разные стороны бытования Иерусалима, его памятников, его жителей и его исследователей. В результате Иерусалим предстает как особое психологическое пространство, созданное гениями прошлых эпох, в котором равная роль принадлежит потомкам царя Давида и римскому градостроительному гению и Британскому проиерусалимскому совету 1917 г., и обитателям прошлого и нынешнего города. Представленный таким образом «Иерусалим земной и подземный» дает уникальный материал для исследователей феноменологии города и социальной теории города. Прошлое, открываемое археологом, наделяет смыслом настоящее.
