Аннотация

В путевых заметках Василия Григоровича-Барского содержится ряд описаний мечетей, которые ранее были христианскими церквями. Анализ текста позволяет разделить их на три группы. В первую входят огромные кафедральные соборы, превращенные в мечети с большей или меньшей степенью внедрения в здание, доступ христианам в них ограничен или запрещён. Вторая группа объединяет также бывшие христианские церкви, доступ в которые христианам открыт, в том числе с целью поклонения святыням и даже проведения литургии. В третью группу попадают мечети, которые Барский лишь упоминает, не описывая подробно. Можно заключить, что в Османской империи первой половины XVIII столетия существовало двоякое отношение к христианским церквям, перестроенным или преобразованным в мечети. Те из них, что играли важную роль в религиозной жизни мусульман, свято блюлись от иноверцев, тогда как другие, являющиеся также важными христианскими святынями, были доступны верующим в своем изначальном качестве. Целью перечисления Барским всех таких объектов могла быть попытка определить реальное количество христианских святынь на Востоке, возможно с далеко идущей целью их возврата христианам.
