Abstract

The article deals with the national motives in the Art Nouveau interiors by considering two buildings in St. Petersburg: the house of the Insurance Society “Russia” and the house of the Trade-Industrial Society of F. Bazhanov and A. Chuvaldina. The main attention is focused on the particular objects of decoration, where the national motives taken from Russian and Scandinavian epics are seen most clearly.
