О миниатюрах Четвероевангелия (РНБ, гр. 53)

Аннотация

Пурпурное Четвероевангелие из Российской национальной библиотеки (гр. 53) было написано и декорировано золотыми орнаментальными заставками и инициалами в придворном скриптории в Константинополе в конце IX – начале X в. и, по всей видимости, украшено миниатюрами тогда же или несколькими десятилетиями позже, в эпоху Македонского ренессанса. Образы евангелистов на отдельных листах были, скорее всего, созданы специально для этой рукописи, о чем могут свидетельствовать изображенные на пюпитрах у авторов евангельских текстов пурпурные кодексы. Миниатюры манускрипта из РНБ не отличаются столь высоким художественным качеством, как изображения в наиболее известных рукописях Македонского ренессанса: Парижской псалтири, Библии сакеллария Льва, Четвероевангелии (cod. 43) из монастыря Ставроникиты на Афоне и др., но могли быть скопированы с более совершенных по уровню исполнения изображений. Можно высказать предположение, не имеющее, однако, никаких документальных подтверждений, что Четвероевангелие (РНБ, гр. 53) было сначала украшено миниатюрами на пурпурных бифолиях, подобно обнаруживающему значительное кодикологическое сходство с рукописью из Санкт-Петербурга пурпурному Четвероевангелию из Тираны (cod. Beratinus II); по неизвестным нам причинам пурпурные листы с миниатюрами могли вскоре быть утрачены и заменены новыми. Вероятно, в последней четверти XI в. Четвероевангелие впервые было реставрировано: тогда несколько утраченных листов заменили новыми, взятыми из какой-то древней пурпурной рукописи, и вклеили миниатюрные изображения евангельских сцен, созданные в 1070-е – 1080-е гг., из которых сохранилось только одно — с «Положением во гроб».
