Исламская архитектура и современная политика: мечети в Константине (Алжир) и Касабланке (Марокко)

Статья касается актуальной темы — архитектуры современной мечети. По ней есть всего несколько монографий, однако почти нет работ, где детально анализировалась бы архитектура отдельных зданий в ее политическом контексте. Исследование посвящено мечетям Абд аль-Кади-ра в Константине, Алжир (1972–1994, Исмаил Хуссейн Мухаммед) и Хасана II в Касабланке, Марокко (1987–1993, Мишель Пенсо), исследованным in situ в 2014–2016 гг. Первая из мечетей практически неизучена, поэтому ей уделено значительно большее внимание. Автор полагает, что обе мечети соединяют традиционный декор с современными пространствен-ными решениями, особенно смелыми в случае Касабланки (диагональная постановка минарета). Декор этой мечети ориентирован исключительно на национальное наследие, но при этом дополнен современными деталями и материалами, что должно было подчеркнуть традиционализм и одновременно современность монархии Хасана II, а также включить Касабланку в орбиту подконтрольного королю традиционного ислама. Создатели мечети в Константине отказались от попыток модернизации и сделали акцент на точном повторении знаковых форм архитектуры Магриба и аль-Андалуса. Это позиционировало первый исламский университет социалистического Алжира 1970-х годов как новый культурный центр всего западноисламского мира.
