Abstract

This paper is dedicated to the paintings of Alexander Volkov, Mikhail Kurzin, Alexander Nikolaev etc. who laid the foundation of the national art school in Uzbekistan. The author traces the interaction of different traditions and styles (Persian miniature and cubism, impressionism, Oriental ornaments and arabesques) in the works of Uzbekistan’s artists in the 1920—1930s.
